Research and concept prototyping for a ticket machine in Stockholm where there had been only manned ticket counters before. During the first project phase we made comparisons between a machine's arithmetic calculations and passenger flows in different European cities. We tested the prototype and explored in iterative stages how to cope with the diversity of traveler choice.
With our findings we applied these principles to the ways people purchase their tickets.
In particular the way they browse the subway map or navigate the entire interactive subway system where stations nearby stations are suggested and time to travel is estimated. .
